Where To Have Your Retreat: Considerations?

By Bruce Honig ·

4th Consideration: WHERE TO HAVE YOUR RETREAT?

The ideal retreat place depends on your group's objectives, size, and nature. Below are some top considerations:

Convenient Location
·     Accessibility: Choose a location that is easy to reach for all participants, minimizing travel time and costs.
·     Proximity: The location should be within a reasonable distance of your main office or central to all attendees if they come from different areas.

Comfortable and Inspiring Environment
·     Natural Settings: Resorts, lodges, or retreat centers in scenic locations like mountains, forests, or by the water can provide a refreshing change of scenery.
·     Urban Venues: Consider hotels or conference centers in vibrant cities for a more modern and convenient setting.

Meeting Spaces
·     Size: Ensure the meeting rooms are big enough to comfortably accommodate all attendees, with 3- 6 people at ideally round tables.
·     Wall space: Plenty of wall space exists to place completed flipcharts.
·     Plenty of light: It is challenging to work in a space that is not well-lit.
·     Privacy and Distractions: Consider venues that offer exclusive use for your group to ensure privacy and minimize distractions.
·     Quiet Environment: A peaceful setting that encourages focus and creativity.

Catering Services
·     High-quality and nutritious catering services for meals and snacks. Include water,
·     coffee, and tea
