What Activities Should We Do; What Should Be On The Agenda?

Retreat activities are tailored to meet the objectives of the retreat. They may be centered around strategic planning, team building, problem-solving, or a mix of these goals. Here are some sample activities:

🔸 Strategic Planning: Defining or refining the organization’s vision, values, and mission, conducting a SWOT analysis, environmental analysis, stakeholder analysis, scenario and strategy development, setting goals, and Measuring success.

🔸 Team Building: Developing norms and agreements, Multiple Trust-building exercises, Problem-solving tasks or games, Group discussions and reflections, Getting to know each person better activities, Reflection and feedback processes, Finding support, Energizers, and warm-ups

🔸 Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Activities: Hundreds of structured methods to generate creative ideas/solutions collaboratively, Decision-making frameworks, including creative problem-solving, ideation tools, root cause analysis, Ideamatics™, Games for Creativity™, Creative Thinking Course; Innovation Games™

🔸 Action Planning: Develop detailed plans to implement solutions, including timelines and responsibilities.

🔸 Facilitated Debates: Structured discussions to weigh the pros and cons of different options.

🔸 Training Workshops: Expert-led and interactive sessions to develop specific skills and knowledge (e.g., leadership, communication, customer service, conflict resolution, delegation, leading effective meetings, creative thinking), Skill Development Activities

🔸 Role-Playing & Improv Exercises: Simulating scenarios and playing with possibilities.

🔸 Guest Speakers and Panels: Inviting industry leaders or experts to share insights and best practices.

🔸 Social Activities: Informal gatherings like dinners, campfires, or leisure activities (e.g., hiking, sports) to strengthen personal connections.
